Characters.

My music video will consist of the band members as well as alot of other teenagers. The music video doesn't follow a storyline so there will be no focus on certain people. Although everyone will be acting as if they are an out of control teenager who is more than likely under the influence of drink and drugs. This will emphasise the wild teenage party. The video willhave the same feel and look as the T.V series skins as the teenagers involved in the music video will be portrayed the same as the teenagers in the skins series as seen in the video clip above.

Location.

The photos above are similar to the type of location we would like to shoot our music video. It is a rural area which has a lot of graffti and smashed glass which would suggest that its the sort of place that stereotypical teenagers would hang out so would be ideal for the theme of my music video as it is a teenage party. The music video's i have watched which inspired my own music video all take place in run-down, rural areas which are stereotypical of teenage 'hang-outs'.

costume.

These are clothes similar to the ones we will be using in our music video. The type of costumes we will be using is inspired by indie fashion trends. The reason we have decided to use this type of fashion trend is because our target audience is aimed at teenagers and many teenagers today follow the indie trend, which seems to be getting more and more popular. By using this type of clothing for the costumes it will help to strengthen the theme of the music video.

Ideas for music video.

The genre for our music video is elctro indie rock. The video above is of the song we would like to use for our music video, 'we are rockstars' by Does it offend you, yeah?

The main plot for our music video is a wild, teenage party. The video will start with people passing out and being very drunk, it will then go in reverse to the beginning when people are first entering the party. There will be certain scenes portrayed in the music video to make it look good with certain effects taking place. These will be people breathing out smoke but when played in reverse it will retract back into the person's mouth, this will be done in slow motion to make the action look better. Drinks will be getting spilled onto the floor or people but when reversed it will go from the place it was spilled back into the bottle. Another effect i would like to add to my video is someone looking very drunk and spaced out but whilst the camera is on them the music is sort of muffled as if that is what the person is actually hearing.

Influences for C.D cover and magazine advert

This is the albumn cover for 'Ribena' by Pegasus Bridge. It is inspiration for my albumn cover as it not over crowded but is just enough to attract people to buy the C.D. The photo is simplistic but effective as it catches the eye of the passing customer. The band members are all on the cover which allows people to see who made the music as well as who they are actually listening to, rather than the typical C.D where it actually has artwork on the cover.

This is the album cover for 'Dirty work' by All time low. Again i like the way it is set out and how again it is the band that is on the C.D cover. I like the way all the band are not just stood in standard postions but are having a 'good time' and loosening up a little bit.

This is the magazine poster for 'The Stone Roses' album. The thing i like most about this poster is the way everything is set out. I also like the background as it helps to make the writing stand out better, as it is a very busy background but the writing is quite simple and plain.

Inspirations for music video.

This video is a Skins U.S trailer. The reason i have put this on my blog is because it is similar to the style of video i hope to achieve. The theme of this video is a teenage house party, it shows teenagers being wild with lots of alcohol, drugs and some slight sexual scenes. This is set up and represented by the use of costume, setting and the props. The reason I have chose to base my video on this trailer is because of the reverse effect that is used throughout. This starts with the effects of the party then actually in the party, to when the girl first leaves her own house to go to the party. After seeing this video i saw how good the reverse effect looks and helped me to decide that this is what i am going to use for my music video.

The video for Travie McCoy- we'll be alright, is another party themed music video. Although this shows people partying and standing with cups it doesn't actually show alcohol or any drugs which is a positive message to show. I like how this video starts with people pulling up outside of the house in cars then entering the party. In the party they have a lot of child like games going on, for example they have a pinata and a lot silly string everywhere. This creates the effect that although they are older and partying they still remain young and fun.

The video for Hadouken- liquid lives is all based underground. The things i like about this video is how the camera moves along with the people jumping up and down and also is placed on the neck of the guitar. It also has a lot of close ups on the singers face and looks as if the camera is placed on the end of the microphone. Another aspect of the video that i like is how at one point the underground room that the band and other people are partying goes dark apart from the U.V lights which alluminate the writing that is on the walls.

This is a promo advert for T4, i like the way it starts in the studio and goes through the night the presenters had back to them sitting in the house before they got ready to go out. The things i like about this advert is the way it has the reverse effect and moves smoothly to the music of the advert itself.

Design brief

The design brief I have chosen to do is a promotion package for the release of an album. This will include me producing a music promo video along with a cover for its release as part of a digipak and a magazine advertisement for the digipak. (CD/DVD package).
